Eminem Buys Bored Ape Yacht Club's NFT for S$607k
Eminem, an American rapper, songwriter, and one of the world's best-selling musicians, has joined the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). He purchased one of the Ethereum-based Apes for 123.45 ETH ($452,000) on December 23 and has since put the ape, who wears a brown military-style hat, hip hop clothing, and dazed expression, his Twitter profile photo.
GeeGazza, a fellow BAYC member who sold Eminem the blonde ape, was hoping to sell this ape to him for months. In November, he stated, "I still think Eminem is going to acquire my Bored Ape one day." "You don't comprehend how long I've been manifesting that Eminem buys my ape," he added.
The account holder, Shady Holdings, made the purchase of BAYC #9055 on OpenSea. The NFT, also known as the 'EminApe,' was purchased through digital firm Six, which has previously handled NFT transactions for celebrities such as Wu-Tang Clan, Tycho, and Galantis.
With his new EminApe, Eminem has officially joined the second-largest NFT project on OpenSea by volume. The BAYC has sold 11,705.97 ETH ($43 million) in secondary trades, with a current floor price of 60 ETH ($220,000).
Eminem has been in the NFT game for a long time now. In April 2021, he released his own beat-inspired animated NFT collection of Stans. In August, Eminem teamed up with Paul Rosenberg to invest in numerous venture funds that added almost USD 30 million to the NFT platform called Makersplace.
