NFL Launches Ticket Stub NFTs

The National Football League is partnering with Ticketmaster to replace ticket coupons with NFTs. The league announced that the fans who attend games through the end of 2021 would receive a “Virtual commemorative ticket” as an NFT in Ticketmaster’s digital wallet.
The NFTs are built on Polygon, just like Tom Brady’s Autograph platform. This is the NFL’s second announcement trying to enter the NFT space. It previously partnered with Dapper Labs to offer digital video collectable of NFL video highlights to fans. The platform will be launched before the current season ends in Feb ’22.

“Leveraging the emerging world of NFTs is a new and exciting way for us to create additional value and to further engage with fans who attend select games by providing a virtual commemorative ticket,” Bobby Gallo, senior vice president of NFL club business development, said in a press release.
Although you buy the ticket, the NFT’s will only be sent to fans who attend the game. Currently, they can be viewed on the NFL.live-nfts.com marketplace. NFL announced that it would begin distributing NFTs to qualifying fans who attend the Thanksgiving Day game featuring the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions’s Ford Field.
